A reminder to complete the ESSA June Institute EVALUATION for both Day 1 and Day 2!

Welcome to the first annual June Institute for Schools at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines Iowa!  

We hope you find what you need across this 3-day event focused on supports in the areas of literacy, mathematics, social-emotional-behavioral well-being and mental health, subgroups, and culture/climate! This site is for all attendees to have access to presenters and session materials.  This is not where you register.    

Please note that registration must be completed within the AEA Registration System, and that special sessions are pre-registration only. Registration links for the Conference and Special Sessions are located HERE.

Margaret Jensen Connet has worked in the human service field for over 44 years and her work in the nonprofit and public sectors includes substance abuse and violence prevention, teen pregnancy prevention/services to teen parents, services to homeless youth, organizational development and direction, and equity consulting. Margaret served as the Equity and Title IX Consultant of the Department of Education from 2010- 2016 and, prior to that, worked over 17 years for Des Moines Public Schools as the Coordinator of a district-wide school-based youth services program. As a member of the State School Improvement Team charged with developing and implementing differentiated accountability, Margaret analyzed, interpreted and used data to develop tiered supports and interventions with school districts. Margaret is also a trainer in the areas of educational equity, civil rights, cultural proficiency, gender equity, disability equity, anti-bullying, gender-based and harassment, and poverty, Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Resilience.
