In this presentation, Liberty High School of the Iowa City Community School District will begin by discussing high school dropout data and how PBIS offers a framework for decreasing dropout rates, office referrals and suspensions.  The team from Liberty High will then describe barriers to high school implementation. The team will demonstrate the “WHY” to the work of PBIS. Liberty High School describes PBIS as, “Not another thing on their plate,” but indeed, “It is the plate.”  Finally, they will describe the professional development process and implementation in high school settings. This includes discussing specific strategies related to systems, data, and practices that resulted in significant improvements in students’ academic and behavioral outcomes.

*This panel will be repeated in the afternoon
