Welcome to the first annual June Institute for Schools at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines Iowa!  

We hope you find what you need across this 3-day event focused on supports in the areas of literacy, mathematics, social-emotional-behavioral well-being and mental health, subgroups, and culture/climate! This site is for all attendees to have access to presenters and session materials.  This is not where you register.    

Please note that registration must be completed within the AEA Registration System, and that special sessions are pre-registration only. Registration links for the Conference and Special Sessions are located HERE.

Positive Discipline and Restorative Practices

This session will serve as an introduction to restorative practices.  Participants will learn how restorative systems differ from punitive practices and how they align with a PBIS framework.  We will focus on the “why” behind restorative practices and also provide a continuum of practices that attendees can implement immediately. Some of these practices include affective statements and questions as well as various circle structures.
