Welcome to the first annual June Institute for Schools at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines Iowa!  

We hope you find what you need across this 3-day event focused on supports in the areas of literacy, mathematics, social-emotional-behavioral well-being and mental health, subgroups, and culture/climate! This site is for all attendees to have access to presenters and session materials.  This is not where you register.    

Please note that registration must be completed within the AEA Registration System, and that special sessions are pre-registration only. Registration links for the Conference and Special Sessions are located HERE.

Amy Alfrey

Iowa Department of Education
Amy Alfrey has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts, both in Special Education. She has had 22 years of teaching experience and 5 years of administrative experience supporting individuals with disabilities. She has been an Education Program Consultant with the Iowa Department of Education for the past 2 years. Current areas of focus include: increasing statewide capacity to provide effective specially designed instruction, building of a statewide coaching network, development of a new statewide data management system, and outreach for Special Education leadership.
